Custom Fujifilm Recipe: Chrisp Chrome

Like many fans of Fuji cameras, I’m cuckoo for Classic Chrome. I love its cool, calm look for various subjects – especially daily snapshots.

This is my go-to Classic Chrome Fujifilm recipe, Chrisp Chrome, with a few tweaks to suit my style and kit. I have this loaded on my everyday X-trans II cameras, the wonderfully capable Fujifilm X30 and XQ2.

I used to try and lift the shadows with Classic Chrome but realized the contrast is much better with stronger shadows and highlights, so I set them to +1. I also slightly pushed the color to +1 because this Fuji film recipe uses +1/3 – +1 exposure compensation, depending on the scene.

The X-Trans II sensors on the X30 and XQ2 skew warmer, so I adjust the white balance for the cameras to R: -2, B: -2. I also like the ISO noise these small cameras produce and set noise reduction to as low as possible while setting sharpness to +1 to accentuate the crispness of Classic Chrome.

The resulting images are crisp and light with pleasing contrast. Check out the full recipe below and some images taken using Chrisp Chrome with the XQ2. Happy shooting!
