On Worry

Worry is a feeling. A powerful one, but also a choice.

We can choose to carry it with us like a weight in our stomach or we can cast it aside by recognizing it for what it is: a feeling.

cast a light on worry

When we stop and pay attention to the source of our worry and shed some light on it, we discover a lot about ourselves.

What is the source of this worry? Is it something that can be controlled? What power do I have over it? What power does it have over me?

I’m not perfect at it, but trying to look at things that worry me more objectively has helped quell the feelings of anxiety and make intentional choices on what to do to move forward.

what, me worry?

Sometimes just recognizing and thinking about these things is enough, but other times I’m forced to get off my ass and do something about it (both figuratively and literally).

The best antidote I’ve found is to give the middle finger to worry.

I try to forget about what I can’t control by accepting what actually is and being intentional with my thoughts and actions when moving forward.

Control the things you can and let go of the things you can’t.

How are you dealing with your feelings of worry?
